Dominic Cai (Saxophone)

Since 2007, Dominic hasn't stopped wowing his listeners as one of Singapore's few pop saxophonists. While he'll gladly oblige your Kenny G requests, Dominic has developed his own unique tonal and melodic stylings inspired by smooth jazz artistes such as Dave Koz, Eric Marienthal and Jeff Kashiwa, all the while maintaining his versatility in jazz, Latin, English Top 40 and Mandarin pop. Other than being a saxophonist, Dominic's experience as a songwriter and arranger adds depth to his playing, enabling him to create the right atmosphere for just about any occasion. Along with his ability to sing and harmonize on the fly, Dominic continues to to be an invaluable addition to any musical outfit he is a part of. Dominic is a frequent flyer at Esplanade and has been consistently asked back to perform at least once a year, every year since 2008. Dominic has also had extensive experience playing at corporate events and weddings, and has held numerous residencies at F&B venues like Acid Bar, Fish & Co Glass House, Balaclava and Fumeé. More recently, Dominic did a show at the Esplanade Recital Studio with long-time bandmates Singapore Char Siew Baos! and 吴佳明 (the local Xinyao pioneer who wrote 小人物的心声), and has been exploring his inner rocker with yet another band named after food, The Blackberries!
